The Story Of Our Name
Now you might be wondering― Why Ginkgo & Granola? What even is Ginkgo? Isn't Granola food? And to those questions I respond with the following:
Yes, of course Granola is a food! But as you see, I do not sell any food. If you've been keeping up with trends throughout 2023 you may have heard of the granola lifestyle or being a granola girl/boy/person. For those that need a refresher or have no clue what this means, it is essentially someone who loves the outdoors and participates in many related activities like camping, hiking, canoe tripping and many more. This brand is catered to those people. No not only the ones that do this 24/7 or live off-grid, but anyone who enjoys it even just a little or wants to get into it!
Shockingly, this was not my initial thought when I created this brand, it was actually even more simple. I love Granola! Specifically Fried Granola. Well really the feeling that comes with it: Waking up in the morning on a campsite, cool morning breeze, building a fire, and making it alongside people that matter to me. I am sure one day I'll share this recipe. The new trending "Granola lifestyle" just happens to be the best way to encompass what I can only refer to as my vibe.
Now what on earth is Ginkgo? I asked myself this too when I moved into to a cabin while working at Camp that was named this. I knew it was a tree or a plant but little did I know over time it would become more meaningful as a result of researching the tree itself and living there. Ginkgo is one of the oldest tree species in the world was used in traditional medicine and is still a supplement that doctors may suggest to assist with memory related problems. If you know anything about me, I have my fair share of those!
In the end, my experiences while calling it home for months with my beautiful Golden Retriever Gus, really sent the sentimental value of this home. Through laughs, smiles, hard times and growing friendships it helped shape myself, and what I can only refer to as my vibe.

Hi, my name is Emma and I am the founder of Ginkgo & Granola! My whole life I have been in love with the outdoors and everything that comes along with it. Growing up in sports, activities and at Camp I have become the person that I am today... Yes, still in love with the outdoors! Another passion that I did not even recognize that I had was being creative and making digital designs. I started off in Grade 11 making my High School Alpine Team merch and now have landed myself in this new business I have been able to create on my own. Grade 11 me would be so proud.
